Our fourth primary energy centre is Heart Chakra or Anahata Chakra, situated near to the physical Heart. It governs compassion, love, emotional balance and serves as the bridge between the physical and spiritual worlds. The word Anahata in Sanskrit means unhurt or unstuck, which symbolizes pure and harmony. Its element is air and its colour is green.
A well-balanced Heart Chakra promotes unconditional love, empathy, forgiveness and deep meaningful connections. You radiate self-acceptance and are emotionally resilient. But if the Heart Chakra is blocked or deficient, it can lead to emotional pain, feelings of jealousy, resentment, fear of intimacy and isolation. Physically poor immune function and respiratory issues are also noticed in the person having damaged Heart Chakra.
If the Heart Chakra is overactive, it may cause intense emotional dependency, poor personal boundaries and physical signs like rapid heartbeats.
To keep the Heart Chakra in good condition, one must do yoga asanas and pranayama. Meditation and chanting Om also keep the Heart Chakra in good condition.
