As per W.H.O. information, nearly 1 in 7 people in the world live with a mental disorder, which means nearly 1.1 billion people around the world suffering with Stress, anxiety and Depression. Mental disorders can severely harm daily life and can cause long-term suffering if not treated properly. Although effective medical treatment and psychological counselling is available, it has seen that most people do not have access to effective care.
Stress: Stress is your body’s natural response to challenges, but if feeling of mental pressure or tension occurs, which can be short-term or long-term, we can say that the person is having stress problems. Normally, short-term stress (acute)comes and goes quickly and can be positive and negative. Episodic acute stress is found generally in professional people and is related to daily lifestyle. Long-term stress (Chronic) continues for weeks and months, one can experience problems such as marriage problems, issues at work or financial problems. If not solved, it can lead to health issues, i.e. high B.P., insomnia etc.
Anxiety: Anxiety is the mental status of health which is characterized by excessive worry, panic attacks, excessive fear and worry in social situations. It is also characterized by the separation of a deep emotional bond with a person. If not treated properly, it leads to heart disease, irritability, digestive issues, sleep-less nights, social isolation etc.
Depression: It is a common mood disorder causing persistent sadness, feeling of emptiness, loss of pleasure or interest in activities. Depression also includes poor concentration, feelings of excessive guilt, hopelessness about the future. It can be dangerous when it leads to dying or suicidal thoughts occurring in the person. Depression leads to disrupted sleep, changes in appetite and weight, feeling low in energy or feeling tired. Yet effective psychological treatment exists, and medication may also be considered.
