During my association with one of the famous hospitals in Lucknow, I came across a famous cardiac surgeon who used to tell us that the best health can be maintained with one sentence in Hindi :“ Pair Garam, Pet Naram and Sir Thanda." Which means good health can be maintained by warm legs, a soft stomach’s normal flora and a cool mind. I would like to elaborate on this statement so that one can understand the good health guidance.
How you can keep your legs warm — Doing daily exercise, brisk walk or long walk, whatever you choose to do, but it certainly gives a lot of benefits to your health. By walking daily, be sure you get better heart condition, weight management, stronger bones, reduced stress and lower risk of chronic disease, for example, diabetes, high blood pressure and stroke. Walking improves your immunity too and it helps in boosting your mood by releasing endorphins. Walking is good for better sleep. Walking outdoors adds vitamin D and natural benefits.
Good and healthy food if you eat, will benefit the intestinal flora and will digest it fast. You must focus on good hydration, such as normal water, coconut water, yogurt etc. You must include salads such as cucumber, watermelons, mint etc. You must avoid greasy, fried and spicy foods. Always opt for steamed, boiled food and healthy salads etc. Fibre-rich food also helps to clear the intestine and chewing well also helps to digest food better.
A cool mind associated with your thoughts means your thinking should be more mature, stable and responses to other variables should be accurate and non-aggressive. To keep cool under pressure, always use immediate, better responsive techniques such as deep breathing and meditation. Good sleep and regular exercise also help to keep your mind cool. Better control of anger and aggressive reflexes should be strictly avoided.
