Exercise: Benefits and Limitations

When we talk about exercise, we must keep in mind that it is related to more than muscle movement, which produces oxygenated blood, which is essential in the body to function better. The muscle movement has four major functions, such as producing movement, which is required for the physical work of the body. Secondly, it helps to maintain postures by which we can stand, walk, or run vertically, or we can say it balances the body.

The third major function of muscle movement is that it stabilizes the joints through smooth muscle connective tissues and helps to keep bone in a better functioning state. The fourth function of muscle movement is that it produces heat, which is known as thermogenesis, which helps to maintain normal body temperature.

Other than muscle movement, Exercise controls weight and helps to enhance the body’s defence mechanism by which the body can fight better against any infections or diseases.

Exercise keeps mood elevation better, and if it is in groups or social gatherings, it is a complement.

But on a serious note, I would like to say that before you go to join any exercise mode such as gym, aerobics, Zumba, yoga, or similar other types of exercise forms, it is essential to take advice from your family physicians or experts. For middle-aged to old-aged persons, they should check BP, sugar, etc. at regular intervals and keep in touch with qualified physicians.
